Laboradorite Wrapped Pendant

I had the pleasure of custom wrapping a laboradorite cabachon for my friend, Sarah, this past week, a wonderful break from doing school work. The stone had a great shape to work with and had a bright blue laboradorescence. The piece turned out to be 1.5-2 inches in height, wrapped with silver plated wire. ~SOLD~

Laboradorite and BC Jade

Laboradorite has become one of my favourite stones lately, but with the neutral colours with be the beautiful flashes of laboradorescence ("play of colours"), who can blame me? I envisioned my large laboradorite rondelles with faceted British Columbian jade stones in a necklace. The result is the wire wrap necklace above; it almost has a subtle Victorian feel to it. The draped chain below the stones add extra attention to the piece. The pendant itself is 4" wide and the necklace in total is 24" long, finished with a Bali style sterling toggle clasp.~FOR SALE~

Gothic Chic

I had the pleasure of making a custom necklace for a friend, it was a present for her friend. It would be a little challenge for me as I had the theme of "gothic chic". I had no previous experience with the gothic look in my repertoire but I love a good challenge. I decided on using mixed media with a simple colour combination. From left to right of the pendant cluster consists of: a jet Swarovski crystal briolette, a Swarovski crystal tear drop, sponge coral, a large agate stone, a quartz crystal point, hematite and red Swarovski crystal polygon. All the stones/crystals were wrapped differently and the necklace was finished with sterling silver chain and findings. Needless to say, I am very happy with how this necklace turned out.

Wire Wrapped Pendant

This pendant is very intricate, it showcases one of my gorgeous geode finds. This geode has a lovely periwinkle/lilac, milky colour, but I think it is most unusual for its scalloped edges at the bottom; it also has flecks of black intrusions in the crystals. The geode is paired with a beautiful piece of amber, a coin pearl and three blueish  amazonite beads. The colour palette is pastel meets bold. The pendant is not very heavy, in my opinion, perfect for everyday wear or an occasion. ~FOR SALE~

Swarovski Crystal AB Earrings

By request of a friend who saw these exact earrings at the Swarovski store, I made these earrings for her because no one wants/should pay $85+tx for them. (It is absurd to simply put hooks on crystals and slap a high price tag on them!) Anyway, I chose to make them in crystal AB colour because choosing a colour in Swarovski crystals may be very hard, for me at least it is, and the AB finish really embodies a rainbow of colours in one. I paired these with a sterling silver plated long hooks. They are so pretty and versatile, I want a pair too! ~SOLD~

Emerald Ring

The only great thing that came out of me staying at home part of this summer is that I was able to focus on wire wrapping. This is an emerald facet (from Burma, bought in Chiang Mai) was wrapped in a ring! I love the deep green against the silver wire. Part of the ring was braided (pic 2 & 3), I found braiding with wire is a lot harder than wrapping but I am happy with the way the braiding turned out. I went with a simple, geometric and symmetric wrap because the facet is quite big and did not want to overwhelm the the facet.

Sapphire Wrapped Ring

This is a first for me, a sapphire facet (from Chiang Mai) wrapped and set in a ring. This was a hefty project, the wrapping had to be tight and small for it to not look, for the lack of a better word, tacky. Wrapped in silver, this colourless sapphire is brilliant in the sun, a great diamond lookalike. I would say this is a size 5 or 6. I have more sapphire facets available for pieces (see previous post "New Ideas"), feel free to contact me!

Gifted

I made this necklace years ago as a gift for my grandma. I was finally able to take a couple of photos of it when we were both in Singapore. I do apologize for the poor lighting in the photos, I will retake them when I see my grandma next. This necklace has a wrapped amazonite pendant and clusters of wrapped Swarovski crystals in purple, magenta and emerald to name a few.
